Frequently Asked Questions |
Are you open over Public Holidays?- Teddy Bear’s Picnic closes on all official public holidays only, but is open for the rest of the year unless otherwise advised
How often do you review your fees?- Our fees are reviewed each January through a structured process to look at the costs of operating the school. If we feel that the operating costs have risen we will then increase the fees.
How do I know about my child’s daily routine?- At the end of the day, you will receive feed back about your child’s day. For the babies and younger children, this will include information about their sleep times, mealtimes and nappy changes. You will also receive feed back about activities and experiences that your child has been involved with over the day.
How do you prepare my child for school?- We expose children to a wide variety of experiences and activities which encourage them to make decisions and become independent learners. We expose them to mathematical concepts such as big and small, shapes, full and empty etc. as well as numbers. All of this they learn through playing with sand, water, and construction materials, using paint, glue and scissors and with outdoor activities. We encourage children to read by looking at books, listening and telling stories, identifying words and signs in the environment, discussing pictures and looking and copying patterns. These are just some of the ways we expose children to reading.
What age of children do you accept?- We will accept your child from 6 weeks - 6 years old.
How do I visit / tour the school?- A private tour is given throughout the year. Please contact us to schedule an appointment.
Do you allow parents to visit their child during the day?- No, unless the child is leaving with the parent as this disrupts the routine.
How can I be informed about school announcements or news?- Once your child is enrolled, and you have informed us you would like to have access to the website. A login ID and password will be provided to you. The 'Parent Zone' provides announcements, your child's photo's and information you may find useful. Also, important announcements will be posted in the school, and parents will be informed right away.
